New CBS4Boston Poll Puts Patrick Up 16
Via Adam Reilly's Talking Politics comes word of the latest poll on the Massachusetts gubernatorial race. According to CBS4, the SurveyUSA poll shows 45% of likely primary voters backing Deval Patrick, with Chris Gabrieli garnering 29%. Tom Reilly, seemingly completing his free-fall from front-runner to also-ran, checks in with 21%.
A week ago I spoke with a friend who does polling in D.C. and told me that the race was essentially over and that Patrick had it sewn up. I was hesitant to believe him after watching the race tighten over the summer. While I still don't think the result is a foregone conclusion, with only one week to go Gabrieli and Reilly seem to have their work cut out for them. Of course, they'll have that opportunity tomorrow night at 7, as the candidates square off for the final time before next Tuesday's primary.
